  1. MIXX of Memes

    tmpdm

As luck would have it, I was able to attend the MIXX 2.7 Conference in Manhattan this year. It was my first time at the conference and I could tell from the lineup it was going to be a good one. So, when I came down with a cold the Thursday before I was to leave for NY, I started pounding orange juice and thinking positive thoughts. But to no avail. By the time I arrived at Mitchell Field for my flight out of Milwaukee, I was sick as a dog. Now, I am not much of a complainer, but I am possibly the worst sick guy ever. Totally worthless lump when I catch a bug. Nonetheless, I decided to persevere in the face of adversity. I was not going to miss the conference. That’s not to say I didn’t wallow in my sufferings all the way to LaGuardia. I did. But I did so in silence, which I figured must be worth something.

  2. Google Street View Hits The Greater Kansas City Area!

    Scott Phillips

That’s right, Google Street View has been spotted in Overland Park, KS this morning no more than one mile from the TMPDM office! Attempts were made to take a photo, however those attempts proved feeble due to an exceptionally agile Google driver.

  3. Voice Search: Mobile Tactic Here. Now. 2DAY.

    Gregg Stewart

Mobile has long been called marketers’ next emerging opportunity. Nokia’s acquisition of Navteq (the mapping folks) is further proof that place-based media and mobile are about to heat up. With 249 million mobile subscribers in the US (eMarketer, August 2007) and 2.8 billion worldwide (Wireless Intelligence, Q1 2007), no doubt it will be big… some day. Read the full article…

  6. Google Stock Passes $600

    Josh McCoy

Once again Google reaches another milestone as shares of the company stock broke the $600 plane on Monday. The increase came as confident investors banked on impressive earnings reports for the third quarter.

With the stock price currently hovering around $625 at mid-day trading on Wednesday, Google now holds a market capitalization of 195 billion dollars.  This means that the search giant is now larger than well aged brands such as Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola Co., and McDonalds.

Breaking $600 is a far cry from when Google went public in 2004 with a public offering of $85 per share. Third quarter results will be released on Oct18. Who knows, from there maybe we will soon see $700?

  7. Someone Stole My Content!

    Josh McCoy

Many search marketers at some point in time will utter the words; “someone stole my content.” Taking steps to protect your content from unlawful usage may help ease the burden of removing your property from a “scraper’s” site.

Grant Crowell of Grantastic Designs provides great insight on how to copyright and protect your online content (i.e. copy, video, podcast, website in general) from those who wish to steal and profit from your authoritative work. Crowell explains that online work can be registered through the federal government at the U.S. Copyright Office by submitting a TX form, paying a $45 fee, and including the requested materials on a CD or removable media format. By completing this procedure one can further protect themselves and their website, especially in the event that they would have to pursue legal action against a copyright abuser to obtain punitive damages.
