Latent Semantic Indexing: Is Keyword Density Still Our Target?
Monday, October 8th, 2007I’m sure we’ve all wrecked our brains before trying to fit keywords into our content in order to achieve a certain keyword density percentage. Well, this type of thinking might be a thing of the past now that search engines are incorporating latent semantic indexing into their algorithms.
Latent semantic indexing (LSI) is a concept in which the search engines look at your content as a whole to determine relevancy, while not relying solely on the number of times a keyword is utilized on a page. So stuffing keywords into your content may not benefit you as much as you would like, because the search engines are getting smarter and smarter by the minute.
