Yahoo has it, and now Google has it too! That’s right, it’s that wonderful suggest feature. Yahoo has a “search assist” feature, which is virtually the same thing. Live Search isn’t quite there yet; however, they will give you related searches for some search results. Finally after four years of testing, Google has rolled out this feature, which I felt was long overdue.
As a searcher who jumps back and forth between Yahoo and Google, I got so used to this feature on Yahoo that when I would go to Google, I would sometimes forget that they didn’t have the same feature. Google says the delay in releasing this feature was due to them wanting to put out a quality tool that would provide a good experience. The suggestions that Google gives come from popular searches that contain the word you are entering into the search box. Unlike Yahoo, Google provides the number of results for each suggestion.
