Video distribution is growing dreadfully tedious as YouTube competitors appear and evolve. I was recently introduced to the website TubeMogul while attending SES Chicago.
TubeMogul, in short, allows you to create an account and distribute videos across multiple video websites. For video marketers who struggle with knowing where to upload their videos, how to keep track of all the logins to each site and how to track video views, TubeMogul offers solutions to all of the above. I was a little skeptical of the service at first because of its $0 price tag, but the service is actually put together very well. As long as you have (or can create) logins to all of the sites you want to distribute your video to, you can get started right away.
This service seems especially beneficial if you distribute new or updated videos regularly and need to send them to multiple video sites. TubeMogul allows you to save your login information for various video sites and upload the video descriptors in one step, saving you the trouble of logging into each site individually.
When trying out the TubeMogul service for myself, I did have some problems with videos not registering in Google and MySpace. To resolve these problems I had to log into each account individually and re-upload the video. This seems to be a reoccurring problem on the videos that I’ve uploaded so far. I will be anxious to see the kind of analytics that TubeMogul is able to deliver from a reporting perspective.
For more information on TubeMogul and its services you can visit their website, and for more detailed information on how to use the service there is a lengthy review on www.masternewmedia.org.
