Google One Box- Not Only a Local Search Feature

Google is re-thinking how local search is done.  They are now displaying the one box feature even when searches do not include a geographically targeted term.  This change could be significant for several reasons– It has the ability to offer small businesses the same visibility as much larger ones.  At the same time, some searchers may not be happy with the changes, and may modify their own search behavior. I think the benefits of this change outweigh the disadvantages, and it is a step towards localizing all searches that are meant to be local in the first place.
