Superpages Helps Advertisers Gain Presence on Twitter

This week, Superpages.com announced a new value-added service: It will now be providing coupons via Twitter. Superpages’ original Twitter account allows Twitter users to search for a product/service and geography, and the company responds with relevant local-business information. Superpages upped the ante by setting up 72 city-specific Twitter accounts that users can follow for business coupons in their areas.

To take advantage of this opportunity, business owners can simply visit their profile page on Superpages.com, and upload their coupons. Superpages will then distribute these coupons via Twitter. The tweets will actually direct consumers back to the business’ Superpages.com profile page, which will provide them with the coupon as well as the business’ local contact information. Voila!

This is just the latest way of combining social media with Internet Yellow Pages to drive users to local businesses. It will be interesting to see what kind of increased traffic Superpages.com will see as a result of this effort.
