Google Webmaster Central Adds New Reports

Google recently made some upgrades to their popular tool, Google Webmaster Central. Within the Google Webmaster Tools, the new top search report has been filled with extra data to help give you additional information on how users are finding your website in the Google search results.

The main thing to take note of is that you can now keep track of organic Click Through Rate (CTR) to your site. This has always been a popular measuring tool for paid campaigns, but until now, has not been available through the Google Webmaster Central Tools for organic search. Under top search queries you will be able to see the term, impressions, clicks and CTR. If you click on the term it will take you to a more detailed report that will show you the position of the term as well as the impressions, clicks, and CTR for that particular position. This new report also allows you to see the landing page of the search query.

Also, you could previously only see the top 100 search queries to your site. Now you can scroll from page to page to see all of your queries.

The data for showing the CTR only goes back as far as March 10, 2010, so it will take some time to get enough information to really get some notable data.
