Searching for Something to Eat?

Yahoo can get you one step closer to that delicious cheeseburger (or veggie burger!) you have been craving. They have recently rolled out a feature that allows users to search for a specific menu item instead of restaurant–especially helpful during times when you can’t figure out where you should go to get something to eat (a situation I am very familiar with).

After reading about the feature, I decided that I wanted to try it out. Thinking that sushi sounded good, as always, I plugged in “overland park spicy tuna roll” and here is what was returned:

Yahoo Restaurant Search

As Yahoo had explained on their blog, I received restaurant suggestions based on sites that had my item on their online menu, as well as a few “related” suggestions. Although I will not be trying out IHOP in hopes of eating sushi (sidenote: match types do not seem to impact the results), I was impressed with most of the results delivered and will most likely utilize this feature in the future.

Wow! How convenient. I definitely think this is a great move for Yahoo. It’s about time they step up with something innovative. Google and Yahoo have been kicking their butts for a while now. Good job for Yahoo!
