From the first print Yellow Pages advertisement to comprehensive local-search solutions — offline and online — we’ve come a long way in an impressive history. In 1967, our agency was the first to recognize the lead-generation potential of Yellow Pages advertising. From then, it became an obsession.

We were the first to develop:

  • Strategic marketing plans in the 1970s.
  • Mapping services and technology in the 1980s.
  • Internet capabilities in 1996, due to our affiliation with Monster Worldwide (aka Monster.com), a sibling division at the time.

In 1996, we built websites for our national clients, and we developed advertising strategies to drive traffic at a time when most online marketing was merely, “Can I have a link on your home page?” Put simply, our Internet capabilities positioned us on the industry frontier, pioneering interactive local search long before Internet Yellow Pages were developed and much earlier than the first search agency was even a thought in a CEO’s mind.

As the millennium turned, we acquired NYC-based IN2, a premier online-search agency with proprietary ClickMaps dashboard-reporting technology. Then, we hired the team that developed SEO for the Monster network, and, in 2005, we spun out of Monster Worldwide to become an independent agency — the world’s largest local-search agency.
