Google Gets Suggest Feature

Yahoo has it, and now Google has it too! That’s right, it’s that wonderful suggest feature. Yahoo has a “search assist” feature, which is virtually the same thing. Live Search isn’t quite there yet; however, they will give you related searches for some search results.  Finally after four years of testing, Google has rolled out this feature, which I felt was long overdue.

Google Showing Blog Results Instead of Site Links

It appears that Google is doing some testing with showing relevant blogposts instead of actual site links under certain search results. Keep Up With Clients Using Google Alerts

Regardless of job title, if you are in the marketing, advertising or consulting business you are going to be expected to house a vast amount of knowledge about your clients. Knowing the services they provide, products they sell, what differentiates them from the competition, their target audience, branch locations, etc. can be a challenge, but a manageable one with the right training and resources. On the other hand, keeping up with your clients visibility online with an immeasurable number of news periodicals, blogs and videos could be another story all together.

First Google-powered Phone Here By End of Year

The first Google-powered phone may hit shelves as early as October and as late as the end of the year — likely in time for the holiday season.

Google’s buzzed-about Android — not a phone but a smartphone platform that operates on a High Tech Computer Corp (HTC) handset — will be available through wireless carrier T-Mobile.

Cuil - Pronounced “Cool” - to Take on Google

It’s pronounced “cool” and it plans to take on the Search Engine giant that is Google. It’s cuil, a new Search Engine that comes with some interesting features that Google can’t offer. Call it good or bad (good for consumers, bad for marketers) but Cuil denounces user data where as Google goes back 18 months with user information. Cuil also has a privacy link listed right on the home page where as Google reportedly put up a fuss to have one on their site up until last month. Other differences lie in the layout and design, where Cuil tries to get away from the top to bottom and looks into using a column view.

Google Launches Knol to Compete with Wikipedia

Google has launched their latest application- Knol.  Knol is very similar to Wikipedia. People who know about specific topics are allowed to write about them for others to reference.  It is an easy tool to use and eliminates some of the clutter associated with the typical Google search.
