  2. Will “The Social Network” Change Facebook’s Status?

    Joanna J. Cheney

Since early this year, you’ve been hearing about “The Social Network,” aka the Facebook movie. Like me, you may have even seen the final product upon its nationwide release this past weekend, along with an estimated $23 million worth of movie-goers.

The commercials for the film say it all with the tag line “You don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies,” implying there may be a substantial reason to not “Like” Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg. Let’s just say I now know why he made a $100 million dollar donation to the Newark, NJ public school system the week before the film’s release. Read the full article…

  3. Twitter’s Redesign More Marketing Friendly

    Kyle O'Boyle

Twitter has always been proud of representing life in “140 words or less,” but with their new site redesign, it seems life will be getting a little more interesting and less text-only. Last week, Twitter revealed the new features and appearance of their popular social network-microblog website, which will now include a split-pane home page that integrates photos and video directly onsite. 6. What’s Happening With Twitter?

    LeAnn Hoksch

Twitter, the real-time information network that provides users ongoing engagement with each other, has recently monetized their natural feed through a combination of promoted tweets, trends and even one particular feed (@earlybird) that retweets special offers. Back in April when Twitter began offering these paid placements, some pretty big names signed on, including Sony Pictures, Red Bull, Starbucks and Best Buy.

  7. Drawing Conclusions: Social-Media Dos and Don’ts

    Cory Grassell

As more clients venture into the evolving, expanding and sometimes-unchartered world of social media, a common question we hear is:

“Should our business have a social presence online just to have one, even if we don’t develop or update it?”

The short answer is “no,” but let’s delve deeper into why this is not recommended.
